OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities where employees apply paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides or handle other harmful contaminants. A portable handwashing station with soap and towels meets federal code. Hand sanitizer does not, under 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2).
How many portable toilets does a construction site need?
It depends on crew size. OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets the ratio: one toilet for 20 workers or fewer, one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers from 20 to 200, and one toilet seat and one urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more. Call us with your headcount and we'll deliver what the law requires.
